oh gwenyth.

who doesn't love gwenyth paltrow? she's totally beautiful, intelligent, articulate, and presents herself as surprisingly accessible. if you've never visited her blog, i definitely suggest checking it out... www.goop.com. i really want her new cookbook as well, My Father's Daughter, because her blog includes tons of tasty recipes, so i am sure this book will not disappoint, plus, she fully admits to actually liking food, unlike so many little skeletors roaming around hollywierd, so that's promising. i love her honesty as well. on many occasions i have heard her on interviews saying that she works really hard to look as amazing as she does; it doesn't just happen on accident...dang it. she talks a lot about working with tracy anderson, trainer to the likes of not only gwenyth, but nicole richie, julianne hough, and pretty much every other celebrity who has an amazing bod. i have a few of her mat work out dvds and i looove them. although, i'm not sure you would be able to tell that i love them at this juncture in my extremely pregnant life...any day now.

Ruche love.

so i am sure that many of you have known about Ruche forev, but somehow this little gem evaded me until a few months ago. it's very anthro, without the steep price tags. everything is very vintage inspired, young, and fresh, and i seem to find something to purchase on shopruche.com every month or so. lately i cannot seem to stop (trying) to shop for regular clothes, even though i am still pregnant! hopefully this baby girl comes soon! here are a few of my current loves from Ruche...

once upon a time...

a few weeks ago my sweet, and very creative girlfriends in Simi threw me a storybook themed baby shower! it was darling... complete with amazing red velvet cupcakes baked by my beautiful friend Lauren (who so needs to open her own bakery), topped with mini versions of children's books! each guest was asked to bring their favorite childhood storybook and write a little message inside for baby girl. it was sooo sweet and right up my ally! i absolutely loved the idea, and now, i have a beautiful library of books!

faves.

So it would seem that my lack of posting in the past couple weeks would suggest that I have a new little baby keeping me busy. unfortunately, this is not the case. i have been eagerly trying to keep myself busied while awaiting some sign of labor from our little one...but to no avail. i am 37 weeks and 4 days right now, and pretty darn ready for her to be here. oh well...all good things come to those who wait...right? yes. she will be here when she is good and ready:) So with the nursery 99% complete (i am just awaiting the arrival of the bedskirt and bumper made by the etsy store UrbanFringe), i haven't had a ton of stuff to do each day. the first week of maternity leave was hectic since i was in a rush against who know what to finish the nursery...so i did. i finished the curtains, which actually turned out pretty darn cute, along with all of the other fun creative crafty stuff i did. i will post pics when i get the bedding! So in the meantime, i have been bidding my time with, well, pretty much anything that keeps my brain even mildly stimulated. so here are a few random thoughts and faves i have been meaning to share with you.

frozen green grapes. i eat these all day long. they fool me into thinking i'm having a treat.

biochem chocolate vegan protein powder. i have a shake with this stuff every morning that consists of 1 frozen banana, 2 spoonfuls of oats, 1 scoop of protein powder, and almond milk.

i rub this stuff anywhere that is very dry. currently i have been rubbing it on my tummy...and knock on wood, no stretch marks yet...but i'm keeping my fingers crossed!
i have really dry skin. summer, winter, any season really, and my skin is just thirsty! this is the only lotion i have found that really works to quench my dry skin.
